Hi again,
Below is a list of questions for homeschoolers on their expectations,
experiences and needs with regard to TAFE or university study. You or your
child may be a prospective, current or past student of either the TAFE or
university system in Australia who has previously or concurrently been home
educated.
If so, your answers to these questions would be very valuable for the
homeschooling community and can be copied and pasted to an email and sent to
williams.rosie at gmail.com to add to the background information for the
article to be published on this issue in Education Choices Magazine. Whether
or not you include personal info like name and age of student is up to you.
If I would like to quote anything you have provided in the article, I will
contact you via email to seek permission.
The questions are as follows:
1.Please indicate whether you (or your child) is a prospective, current or
past student of TAFE or university.
2.What course & institution do you wish to study/are you studying at/have
you studied.
3.How did you find out about this course?
4.What contacts do you recommend to other homeschoolers at this institution?
5.How did you/your child gain entry to this course/institution? (Please tell
me about the enrolment procedure that you followed. Did you have a school
leaving certificate? Were you asked to show certificates & portfolio or did
you go through a university admissions centre? )
6.How has your/your child's homeschooling contributed to their study at
tertiary level?
7.How have you/your child found the tertiary study experience?
8.How has this study experience contributed to your/your child's life?
9.How could tertiary institutions improve enrolment information and
procedures for home educated applicants?
10.Please indicate if your answers can be quoted and whether you want names
(if applicable) changed.
Your answers will be greatly appreciated at williams.rosie at gmail.com
