   I'm sorry so many of you are having to deal with this, because my
   daughter's school has managed to find an easy way to allow this to
   happen.

   They have assessed the children, and then formed ability based
   literacy and maths groups, covering Years 2 - 4, all based on ability.
   Because of this, my daughter who is in Year 3, is in a group where
   they are, at this point, starting on some Year 7 level maths, and a
   literacy group where they are working at a Year 6 level.

   I think the school are able to manage this because it is a relatively
   small school, and also because all classes work on a program of
   literacy based work every morning until recess and maths between
   recess and lunch...but if her school can do it, I can't see how it
   wouldn't work elsewhere.
