I just sign the log with whatever they have been reading. I usually forget
for a week or more, then sign off a couple of weeks at a time. I try to
remember each week, usually ready for homework hand in on Friday. Then I
just ask each one what they have read for the week and sign all at once.
Teacher is happy, job done, kids happy that they have read what they want,
and complied with the requirements.
