i dont know if i talk about it earlier becuase my
kids are gifted or if because it is my parenting
style... my kids have known about sex and reproduction
from an early age ( as we had each new baby etc)... my
sons friends told me some very detailed info about IVF
when he was only 6 so i think it is more my parenting
style ( and those of my friends)...

this year i have noticed that my son is asking more
about the *reasons* for sex ( other then reproduction)
and as ive always answered his questions appropriately
( guaging the answers based on his questions/interest)
then i guess i will be heading into discussing the
pleasurable side of sex... he just turned 10....

i dont think this is too young(because it is a
question HE asked), although i will use the time to
talk about safe sex/right time to have it etc at the
same time....also i think if i talk about it whilst he
is young then we can talk without him getting
embarassed as many teenagers do...
