Hmm. And I was called artistic and oversensitive.

It didn't really occur to me to think of myself as intelligent. How could
I be when I hated mathematics? It wasn't until I had my kids and my
son was tested at age five that I considered the possibility. Where did
it come from? Then I read an article about bright girls and mathematics
and the penny dropped. It was as if the article had been written about me.

My husband, now that I think about it, would be one of those "straight
out gifted" types. He's great with numbers and at working with his
hands and I know from psych testing he had done while in the Air
Force that he has a high IQ. I am thinking that our kids probably
inherited our best traits.
