This is a most important question and you need to ensure that the school is 
not paying lipservice to a policy or what they think you would like done. 
They need to be definitely going to have a plan and to follow it.

It is mandatory for all schools to have a G & T policy (DET insists) and the 
policies  of all schools were supposed to be reviewed over the last couple 
of years after (in NSW) the Dept. of Ed  held their own review. The concern 
is usually what each individual school has interpreted as the requirements 
and what they have put in place. After that comes the question of whether or 
not they actively enforce their policy or simply have it for decoration.
