[Oz-gifted] Psychologist enquiry - West or South West Sydney

Hi all,

I'm looking around for a psychologist to assess my 6 year old.

She is 6 1/2 years old and in 1st grade and both her teacher and myself
have concerns about her progress. I believe that she is gifted but she
is not achieving at school. She is unfocussed, uncooperative and rarely
completes work. Her reading is progressing slower than expected and a
little oddly in terms of skill development. She is also an extreme
perfectionist - refusing to attempt tasks if she thinks she might make a
mistake (this of course can impact greatly on IQ test results as I'm
sure you're aware).

The NSWGTA sent me a list of suitable professionals and I've narrowed it
down to 3 possibilities: Lizette Campbell, Mimi Wellisch and Taryn Bloom
(mostly due to proximity to home). Has anyone had good or bad
experiences with one of these professionals? I'm sure they're all good -
I'm just trying to find the best match for my somewhat obstinate
daughter. Please reply off-line if you have any comments that may be
helpful.

Thank you

Robyn
