Hi all,
Here's a remarkable claim, from a software company
which I trust, regarding a recent MS Windows update.
(They suggest people phone Microsoft and complain.)

Subject: Critical Update for (xxx) Software
Hello,
Recently Microsoft released an update for Windows that changed a commonly
used function in Internet Explorer used to display Web Pages (HotFix
Number: KB891781).
This update has caused many popular programs including (our product) to run
improperly and will affect much of the other software that you use every day.
We have created a New Version of (our product) that will fix this problem.
This version will remove the portion of the Windows update that is at
fault, and also fix other software on your system that uses the Internet
Explorer functions.
Microsoft released this HotFix with no notice to us or thousands of other
software companies.
We have notified Microsoft about the problem they have caused and are still
waiting for a reply.
You can also contact Microsoft here: Phone: 800-936-4900 (option 4)
Thanks,
The xxx Team
