Hi all,

The ACMA has some worthwhile Internet resources:

<http://www.acma.gov.au/ACMAINTER.65654:STANDARD:1527151471:pc=PC_90161>

* Cybersmart Kids online

The Internet is both a terrific resource and a potential risk for kids.
Being cybersmart means being safe and aware online. This site will help
young people to find out how to be cybersmart and use the Internet safely.

* New! 'How to be phone smart' guide

This brochure includes tips for parents and kids on how to stay smart with
mobile phones.

* Cybersmart help guide

The Cybersmart help guide provides safety tips for parents and carers to
enable children to have a rewarding Internet experience. The guide is
endorsed by all Australian law enforcement bodies.

* Net detectives

Net Detectives is an online activity which promotes Internet safety for
young people. Net Detectives uses the medium to teach young people about
the medium.

The activity is designed specifically for use in the school environment,
and is pitched at young people in the upper primary school to lower
secondary school age range.

* Other brochures

A series of brochures and posters has been developed to promote the
cybersmartkids web site and Internet safety information:

* Help your kids make the most of the Internet - safely

This reource provides net information, and it doubles as a colourful poster
for display in schools and libraries.

* Tips for families on using filters for Internet safety

This is based on the results of the filter effectiveness report prepared by
the CSIRO.

* Tips for dealing with spam

* Tips to help you chat safely

Related agencies - NetAlert (ACMA works closely with NetAlert in the area
of community education. NetAlert provides practical advice on Internet
safety for the protection of children, students and families.)
