[Oz-teachers] Clarification ...

Hi everyone
Last year, we put an email policy up on the oz-teachernet website - http://www.otn.edu.au/email/email_pol/ - and asked for some feedback. It was based on the OZ-TL rules and put in place largely to standardise commercial postings to the list. Our new system of prefacing messages as INFO and AD is a bit slow to catch on but is beginning to work. The "AD" messages generate some revenue for oz-teachers to keep us going.

Posting information about employment in a school is one of the things which is welcomed - with the caveat that it is not posted by agencies or systems and is a "one-off". This happens quite commonly on some other lists I am on - and from where I sit, in teacher ed, it gives me an inside view as to where the jobs are and what kinds of skills are being demanded.

I think, too, if I was looking for a new staff member, I think I would prefer someone who 'walked the walk" (whether on water or not) and who was a member of an active list.

The job at Matthew Flinders sounds great - it might actually be a model for what these kinds of positions might be in the future. All this and at the Sunshine Coast - geez, I might apply :-)
